You can also listen to this episode on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
Andrew Schwartz talks with Dr. Steve Waddell. For over 35 years, Steve has worked as a consultant, community organizer, educator, researcher, and collaborative leader. His work with organizations, networks, and systems ranges from local to global. He is the founder and co-lead of The SDG Transformations Forum, a growing system of people, organizations, and locales, which are developing transformations systems as key infrastructure to accelerate deep change. He is also a co-founder of Catalyst2030, a global network of social entrepreneurs, and is Lead Steward with Bounce Beyond–a global community of people on the urgent journey to next economies through transformative practice and collaborative action. Three key concepts across Steve’s work include “societal learning and change,” which is a deep change strategy to address chronic and complex issues; “Global Action Network” which is a specific new organizational form coined by Steve; and “transformational complex change systems” which describes emerging groupings of change initiatives whose effectiveness can be greatly enhanced by consciously acting as such a system. In this episode, Andrew talks with Steve about transforming complex systems for the long-term wellbeing of people and the planet–an ecological civilization.
