For the first episode of the EcoCiv Podcast, Andrew Schwartz talks with Dr. John B. Cobb, Jr., who is an environmentalist, philosopher, and theologian. Almost 94 years old, John’s work has been influential across a range of disciplines, including theology, economics, ecology, biology, and social ethics. He is the author of more than 50 books, including For the Common Good (co-authored with economist Herman Daly), The Liberation of Life (co-authored with biologist Charles Birch), and Is It Too Late? – which was the first single-author book in environmental ethics. Andrew asks him about the notion of ecological civilization, ecological economics, Pope Francis, integral ecology, process philosophy, what gives him hope, and many other topics.
